Tea Base

  • 6 black tea bags
  • 4 cups hot water
  • 5–6 cups cold water
  • 1 ½ cup granulated sugar

Instructions

  1. Steep the Tea: Place 6 black tea bags in 4 cups of hot water and allow to steep for 5 minutes for a medium strength brew. Steep longer if a stronger flavor is desired.
  2. Prepare Peach Puree: While the tea is steeping, add the peeled, pitted, and sliced peaches to a blender or food processor. Puree until completely smooth for a natural fruit base.
  3. Strain Peach Puree (Optional): For a smoother texture, strain the peach puree through a fine mesh sieve to remove any pulp or skin pieces.
  4. Combine Ingredients: In a large pitcher, mix the hot tea with the peach puree and granulated sugar. Stir well until the sugar completely dissolves. Then stir in 5 cups of cold water to dilute and cool the tea.
  5. Adjust Sweetness and Strength: Taste the tea and add more sugar or an additional cup of water if the tea is too strong to achieve your desired flavor balance.
