Garlic White Sauce

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced as fine as possible (or 3 teaspoons from a jar)
  • 1¼ cups milk, whole
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons butter, unsalted
  • 2 tablespoons plain flour
  • ¼ cup Parmesan, finely shredded
  • ¼ teaspoon sea salt

Pizza Toppings

  • 1 pre-made or homemade pizza dough
  • 2 tablespoons basil, sliced into thin ribbons as garnish
  • ½ teaspoon Italian herb mix
  • 8 ounces freshly grated mozzarella, low-moisture
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil, for brushing
  • ¼ cup extra Parmesan, shredded fresh
  • ½ cup of the Parmesan garlic sauce you made earlier

Instructions

  1. Warm up the butter: In a small pot over medium heat until it’s fully melted and just starts to bubble.
  2. Toss in the flour: Mix continuously for a couple of minutes until thickened.
  3. Add milk: Gradually pour into the pot while whisking until thickened and bubbling.
  4. Blend in garlic and seasonings: Stir until smooth.
  5. Stir in Parmesan: Melt into the sauce, then cool it down.
  6. Preheat oven: To 450°F (232°C). Shape the dough, brush with olive oil, sprinkle herbs.
  7. Add garlic sauce: Spread evenly on dough, top with mozzarella and extra Parmesan.
  8. Bake: For 10-12 minutes until cheese is bubbly and browned.
  9. Finish and serve: Sprinkle with fresh basil ribbons before serving warm.
