Ingredients

Scale

For the Noodles

  • 6 oz Roland® Organic Udon Noodles

For the Sauce and Toppings

  • 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons sesame seeds (plus additional for garnish)
  • 2 teaspoons crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon Roland® Sriracha Chili Sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh cilantro, finely chopped
  • 2 green onions, chopped (plus additional for garnish)
  • 1/4 cup neutral oil

Instructions

  1. Cook the noodles: Bring a pot of water to a boil and cook the Roland® Organic Udon Noodles according to the package instructions. Once cooked, drain the noodles and rinse briefly under cold water to stop cooking and remove excess starch. Drain well and transfer to a large mixing bowl.
  2. Prepare the chili oil: In a small saucepan, heat the 1/4 cup neutral oil until it is sizzling hot but not smoking. This will allow the oil to infuse with a slight toasted flavor when poured over the aromatics and noodles.
  3. Assemble the dish: To the bowl with noodles, add 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce, 2 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce, 2 teaspoons sesame seeds, 2 teaspoons crushed red pepper flakes, 2 chopped green onions, 2 cloves finely minced garlic, 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh cilantro, and 1 tablespoon Roland® Sriracha Chili Sauce on top of the noodles. Pour the hot oil evenly over the mixture to cook the garlic slightly and release the flavors.
  4. Mix and serve: Thoroughly toss all the ingredients together until the noodles are well coated with the flavorful chili garlic oil and seasonings. Garnish with additional chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving to enhance presentation and taste.

Notes

  • Use a neutral oil with a high smoke point, such as canola or vegetable oil, for best results.
  • Adjust the amount of crushed red pepper flakes and sriracha to control the heat level according to your preference.
  • Rinsing noodles with cold water helps prevent them from sticking and keeps them chewy.
  • This dish can be served warm or at room temperature, making it perfect for quick meals or meal prep.
