Ingredients

Scale

Ice Cream Base

  • 24 scoops vanilla ice cream (softened)
  • 24 scoops extra creamy Cool Whip topping (very cold, but not frozen)

Toppings

  • Strawberry sauce (for topping as desired, chilled)
  • Candy (your favorites, for topping as desired, chilled)
  • Candy canes (crushed lightly, for topping as desired, chilled)
  • Candy corn (for topping as desired, chilled)
  • Maple syrup (for topping as desired, chilled)
  • Chocolate Pop-Tarts (crushed for topping as desired, chilled)
  • Chocolate syrup (for topping as desired, chilled)
  • Christmas sprinkles (for topping as desired, chilled)
  • Marshmallows (for topping as desired, chilled)
  • Chocolate candy (for topping as desired, chilled)

Instructions

  1. Chill: Place all toppings and equipment except ice cream in the fridge or freezer to chill for at least one hour. Chilling ensures the ice cream doesn’t melt quickly during preparation.
  2. Thaw Ice Cream: Remove ice cream from the freezer and let thaw for 15-30 minutes to reach a creamy, stirrable consistency similar to toothpaste but still holding shape.
  3. Scoop Cool Whip ‘Snow Balls’: While ice cream softens, scoop 2-4 balls of very cold Cool Whip onto the chilled plate and freeze to keep cold while preparing the ice cream.
  4. Fill the Ricer: Using a chilled ice cream scoop, measure out enough softened ice cream to fill the potato ricer halfway to three-quarters full to avoid overflow.
  5. Press Ice Cream: Push the ice cream through the chilled potato ricer, creating thin spaghetti-like strands over and around the Cool Whip on the plate.
  6. Freeze to Set: Freeze the assembled spaghetti ice cream for at least 30 minutes or chill until ready to serve, up to 48 hours in advance.
  7. Serve: Before serving, drizzle strawberry sauce to mimic tomato sauce and add your choice of candy toppings, maple syrup, chocolate syrup, crushed Pop-Tarts, marshmallows, and sprinkles for a festive look and flavor. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Ensure all toppings and tools are well chilled to prevent melting during assembly.
  • Adjust the ice cream consistency carefully; it should be soft enough to press through the ricer but firm enough to hold strands.
  • The potato ricer size affects serving size—use smaller scoops as needed to avoid overflow.
  • Can prepare up to 48 hours in advance; keep covered in freezer until serving.
  • Feel free to customize toppings according to personal preference or seasonal availability.
