  • 1/2 cup peanut butter (unsalted, natural with peanuts as the only ingredient preferred)
  • 1/2 cup honey (avoid honey for children under 1 year)
  • 4 cups plain Cheerios cereal

Instructions

  1. Melt the peanut butter and honey: In a microwave-safe dish, combine the peanut butter and honey. Microwave for about 30 seconds or until the mixture is liquid and smooth. Alternatively, melt together in a small saucepan over low heat on the stove.
  2. Mix in the Cheerios: Add the 4 cups of plain Cheerios to the melted peanut butter and honey mixture. Stir thoroughly to ensure all the cereal pieces are evenly coated.
  3. Transfer and press: Line an 8 x 8 or 9 x 9 inch square dish with parchment paper or use a cookie sheet. Pour the mixture into the prepared dish and firmly press it down into an even layer using the back of a spatula or your hands.
  4. Chill to set: Place the dish in the refrigerator and chill for at least 1 hour or until the bars have hardened.
