  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

For the Bowl:

  • 2 cups cooked rice (white or brown)
  • 1 cup kimchi
  • 1 cup cucumber, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup carrots, julienned
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • Sesame seeds for garnish
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Marinade: In a medium bowl, combine soy sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, rice vinegar, and red pepper flakes. Whisk until sugar is dissolved.
  2. Marinate the Steak: Place flank steak in a bag or dish, pour marinade over it, and refrigerate for 30 minutes to 4 hours.
  3. Cook the Rice: Rinse rice, cook according to package instructions, and keep warm.
  4. Cook the Steak: Heat a pan, cook steak for 4-5 minutes per side, then let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.
  5. Assemble the Bowls: In a bowl, layer rice, sliced steak, kimchi, cucumber, carrots, avocado, and green onions. Garnish with sesame seeds and cilantro.
