Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 6 cups juice (48 ounces) – choose your favorite fruit juice such as grape, apple, or berry juice
  • 3 tablespoons gelatin (plus 2 teaspoons more if you prefer a firmer jello)

Instructions

  1. Heat the juice: Pour 1/2 cup of the juice into a small saucepan and heat it on the stovetop until it is hot but not boiling. This will help dissolve the gelatin properly.
  2. Dissolve the gelatin: Place the gelatin in a small bowl and pour the hot juice over it. Whisk the mixture thoroughly to combine, then let it sit for a few minutes, stirring occasionally until the gelatin is completely dissolved.
  3. Combine remaining juice: Add the remaining 5 1/2 cups of juice to the gelatin mixture and whisk well to ensure an even consistency throughout the liquid.
  4. Refrigerate: Pour the combined mixture into a jello mold or container. Cover it and refrigerate for at least 8 hours or overnight until the jello is completely firm.
  5. Serve: When ready to serve, briefly run the bottom of the mold under hot water to loosen the jello. Slice and serve as is or topped with fresh fruit to complement your chosen juice flavor.

Notes

  • For firmer jello, increase gelatin from 3 tablespoons to 3 tablespoons plus 2 teaspoons.
  • Choose juices without added sugar for a healthier version.
  • This recipe is naturally gluten-free and low-fat.
  • Fresh fruit toppings add texture and freshness but are optional.
  • Use a silicone mold or a lightly oiled container to make unslicing easier.
