Ingredients

Scale

Green Pea Hummus Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups green peas
  • 3/4 cup cooked chickpeas
  • 1 small garlic clove, peeled
  • 2 tbsp tahini
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the Green Peas: Add 1 cup of water to the green peas in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 3 minutes until tender. Allow the peas to cool slightly, then drain any remaining water thoroughly.
  2. Prepare the Ingredients: Place the cooked green peas, cooked chickpeas, peeled garlic clove, tahini, lime juice, and extra virgin olive oil into a food processor or blender jar.
  3. Blend to Creamy Consistency: Process the ingredients on puree mode until smooth and creamy. If the mixture is too thick, gradually add a little water or more olive oil to achieve the desired consistency. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Serve: Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl and enjoy it as a delicious appetizer with pita bread, vegetable sticks, or incorporate it into other dishes as a flavorful spread.

Notes

  • You can substitute fresh peas with frozen peas; just thaw and drain before using.
  • Adjust the garlic level according to your preference for a milder or stronger flavor.
  • For extra creaminess, soak chickpeas overnight and cook them instead of using canned.
  • Add a pinch of cumin or paprika for a spiced version.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
