Ingredients

Scale

Sandwiches

  • 112 count package of Hawaiian rolls (dinner rolls will work if you can’t find Hawaiian rolls)
  • 12 ounces sliced deli turkey or thinly sliced leftover turkey
  • 8 ounces sliced Havarti cheese
  • 1/2 cup cranberry sauce (see notes below)

Butter sauce

  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 tsp poppy seeds
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tsp brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F to prepare for baking the sliders.
  2. Prepare Rolls: Slice the slab of Hawaiian rolls horizontally so that you have separate top and bottom halves.
  3. Arrange Bottom Buns: Lightly grease a 9 x 13 inch baking dish and place the bottom halves of the buns evenly in the dish.
  4. Layer Cheese and Turkey: Spread half of the Havarti cheese slices on the bottom buns, then layer all the turkey slices evenly over the cheese.
  5. Add Cranberry Sauce: Evenly spread the cranberry sauce over the turkey layer to add a sweet and tangy flavor.
  6. Top with Cheese and Buns: Cover the cranberry sauce with the remaining Havarti cheese slices and then place the top halves of the buns over everything.
  7. Make Butter Sauce: In a small bowl, melt the butter in the microwave. Stir in poppy seeds, sesame seeds, Dijon mustard, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, and brown sugar until well combined.
  8. Brush Buns: Using a pastry brush, generously brush the butter sauce mixture on the tops and sides of the buns to ensure flavor and browning.
  9. Bake Covered: Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until the cheese melts and the sliders heat through.
  10. Crisp Tops: Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes to brown and crisp the tops of the buns.
  11. Cool and Serve: Allow the sliders to cool slightly before serving to let the flavors settle and ensure easy handling.

Notes

  • Try our homemade cranberry sauce for a fresher, more flavorful option that’s easy to make and adds extra depth to your sliders.
  • If Hawaiian rolls are unavailable, standard dinner rolls can be used as a substitute.
  • Leftover turkey works perfectly in this recipe, making it a great way to repurpose holiday meat.
  • Use a good quality Dijon mustard for the best flavor in the butter sauce.
