Ingredients

Scale

Brownie Base:

  • 1 package brownie mix (including required eggs, oil, and water as per package instructions)

Cheesecake Layer:

  • 24 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream

Caramel Swirl:

  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce

For Garnishing:

  • Whipped cream
  • Chocolate shavings

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Brownie Base: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch springform pan. Prepare the brownie mix according to package instructions, typically mixing eggs, oil, and water into the brownie mix until smooth. Pour the batter into the pan and bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow the brownie base to cool completely before proceeding.
  2. Make the Cheesecake Layer: Lower the oven temperature to 325°F (160°C). In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and granulated sugar until smooth and creamy. Add vanilla extract and mix in the eggs one at a time until fully combined. Stir in sour cream and heavy cream, mixing until the cheesecake filling is smooth and slightly tangy.
  3. Add the Caramel Swirl: Drizzle the caramel sauce in a zigzag pattern over the cheesecake filling. Using a knife or spoon, gently swirl the caramel throughout the filling to create a marbled effect, being careful not to overmix.
  4. Bake the Cheesecake: Pour the cheesecake mixture over the cooled brownie base and smooth the top. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until the edges are set but the center remains slightly jiggly. Turn off the oven and let the cheesecake cool inside for about an hour to prevent cracking.
  5. Chill and Garnish: After the cheesecake reaches room temperature, refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to set. Before serving, remove the cheesecake from the pan, garnish with caramel sauce, whipped cream, and chocolate shavings for an elegant finish.

Notes

  • Use a springform pan to easily remove the cheesecake without disturbing layers.
  • Allow the brownie base to cool fully before adding the cheesecake layer to prevent mixing layers.
  • Do not over-swirl the caramel to maintain distinct ribbons in the cheesecake.
  • Chilling overnight improves texture and flavor development.
  • Room temperature cream cheese ensures a smooth cheesecake batter without lumps.
