Crust:
- 2 cups of all-purpose flour
- 4 tablespoons of icing sugar
- 1 cup of cold, unsalted butter (cut into small cubes)
- 1–2 tablespoons of cold water (optional)
Filling:
- ½ cup of unsalted butter
- 3 cups of brown sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1–2 tablespoons of white vinegar
- 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
- Optional: ¾ cup of raisins
- Get your pan ready – Line a 9×13 inch pan with parchment paper and spray it with cooking spray.
- Preheat the oven – Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Make the Crust
- Mix the crust ingredients – Combine flour and icing sugar in a bowl. Add butter cubes.
- Cut in the butter – Use a pastry cutter to mix until butter is pea-sized. Add water if needed.
- Press it into the pan – Press crust mixture into the pan evenly.
- Bake it – Bake crust for 10 minutes.
- Make the Filling
- Melt the butter – Melt butter in a bowl.
- Add the rest of the filling ingredients – Whisk in brown sugar until smooth. Add eggs, vinegar, vanilla, and raisins (if using).
